Poor Men

Why do women not like a man who is a poor? 

There are some women who love starving artists, but many do not. As for why, throughout most of human history, women have been dependent on men. Men were free to find work, earn money, and ultimately, even free to abandon his family and start life anew elsewhere - but a woman could do none of these things. If a woman ever wanted to be rich or have any degree of financial security for herself and her children, she would have no other choice than to choose a man who is well off, rather than attempt to earn the money herself. These days, women, thankfully, have more earning power and more control over their own life, but old habits die hard!
