Is it alright to trouble my father to get me a job? He has connections. We don't have a relationship with him.

Is your father a decent man, with whom it is safe to get in touch? If so, it's fine to trouble him, but don't feel disappointed if your father says no, or doesn't seem like he is trying very hard to get you a job. After all, a relationship cannot grow overnight. Then again, you may be pleasantly surprised - you won't know until you try!
