Eating Bones

I chew crush and swallow chicken and beef bones is it healthy for me ? Yes, as long as the bones are crushed or ground down small enough that it can safely pass through your body, it's fine to eat bones. The bone marrow contains a lot of nutrients. The bone itself has a lot of calcium - eating bones is fine once in a while, but if you do it all the time, you might end up with too much calcium in your body. Also, make sure the bones are cooked to the point that they aren't so tough that you'll damage your teeth!

World History

What is World History? A comparative, transregional and transcultural approach to the study of history, World History offers a global perspective on past events, as well as cultural and geographic developments over time. Instead of focusing on discrete events, World History takes a big-picture approach to history and considers how those events relate to each other in a larger human story. A World History timeline might chart the impact of a humble commodity like cotton, from its handspun origin in the Indus Valley to its machine-spun glory at the height of the Industrial Revolution. The contemporary study of World History in the United States grew out of the political upheaval of the 1970s and marks an alternative to the previously Euro-centric approach to history education. Earning an online History Degree, students learn not only to look at Ancient History, Native American History, American History, and European History in isolation, but to consider them comparatively, and e...

Some of the Most Common Idioms in English

You’re talking to your native English-speaking friend about your recent breakup and how depressed you are when suddenly he turns toward you and says “Don’t worry about it man, girls like that are a dime a dozen!” You then stare at your friend in confusion. You simply don’t understand why your good friend is comparing the girl that was once the love of your life to $1.20. Actually “dime a dozen” doesn’t mean anything even remotely close to what the individual words in the phrase implies. For native speakers of English, a dime a dozen simply means that something is common and easy to obtain. Because we cannot figure out the meaning by examining the phrase alone, “dime a dozen” is what we call an idiom. As a non-native speaker of English, the best way to understand idioms is to memorize their meanings from the standpoint of a native speaker. We’ve listed the 10 most common idioms in English and their actual meanings. 1. Piece of cake  – No, when someone says that the assignment...

Mars InSight Stuck the Landing. Here's the First Thing It Did. An array of firing rockets slowed the final stage of InSight's descent. Mars has a new robotic inhabitant on its surface. At 2:54 p.m. ET Nov. 26, NASA mission control confirmed that the InSight lander had safely reached the surface of the Red Planet, following a harrowing descent that had engineers tensely perched on the edges of their seats. InSight reached Mars' atmosphere traveling at 12,300 mph (19,795 km/h). During the minutes that followed, the rapidly dropping lander deployed a parachute, ejected its heat shield and fired 12 descent engines to slow the last part of its fall, finally touching down on Mars. After this  remarkable landing , InSight immediately got to work. Within 10 seconds after touchdown, InSight's instruments were already engaged in the mission's first tasks — establishing a direct-to-Earth signal and taking photos of the landing site, Jim Green, NASA Chief Scientist, ...

relatives clause two kinds of relative clause Some relative clauses identify orclassify nouns: they tell us whichperson or thing, or which kind ofperson or thing, is meant. (Ingrammars, these are called‘identifying’, ‘defining’ or‘restrictive’ relative clauses.) What’s the name of the tall manwho just came in? People who take physicalexercise live longer. Who owns the car which isparked outside? Have you got something that willget ink out of a carpet? Other relative clauses do notidentify or classify; they simplytell us more about a person orthing that is already identified. (In grammars, these are called‘non-identifying’, ‘non-defining’ or ‘non-restrictive’ relativeclauses.) This is Ms Rogers, who’s joiningthe firm next week. Runaway

I want to  run away from home - my parents neglect me ! Unless you are in immediate physical danger, don't run away from home unless you have a good plan as to where you can stay and how you can take care of yourself. While neglectful parents are terrible, having a roof over your head is better than living on the streets. Build a support network - friends, extended family, teachers, support groups, and try to find a way to financial independence.

Imaginary friends

Is a person normal when they have imaginary friends ? It's normal for a young child to have imaginary friends, but imaginary friends usually disappear by age 7 or 8, or by the time the child hits puberty. Teenagers and adults with imaginary friends are rare, but it's healthy as long as they aren't hearing voices and can differentiate between imagination and reality,.

Money Minded Child

Is it correct for child talk to me only when he needs money or other shortages at school ? It's always preferable to have more communication between parent and child - try encouraging your child to talk more by asking more questions. If you have a teenager who is reluctant to talk, don't ask questions that are too personal and don't give unsolicited advice - it's bound to make your teenager stop talking! If your teenager still refuses to talk, it's okay as long as the child seems to have good friends and doing okay in school. Just keep on trying periodically, and hopefully your teenager will get over this phase with time.

Mars landing live

NASA will stream live coverage of the attempt today to land the InSight spacecraft on Mars, starting at 11 a.m. Pacific time. The touchdown is planned for noon PST. It is the U.S. space agency’s first attempt to land on Mars in six years. Earth’s success rate at Mars is 40 percent, counting every attempted flyby, orbital flight and landing by the U.S., Russia and other countries dating back to 1960. But the U.S. has pulled off seven successful Mars landings in the past three decades. With only one failed touchdown, it’s an enviable record. No other country has managed to operate a spacecraft on the planet. If the landing is successful, it is hoped that the 800-pound InSight will then place on the Martian surface a seismometer and a “mechanical mole” that will burrow 16 feet into the soil to collect data. After seven months of traveling through space, the NASA InSight mission has landed on Mars. A few minutes later, InSight sent the official "beep" to NASA to signal t...

The best tourist places in Yemen

Yemen is on the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, and sharing borders with Saudi Arabia and Oman. Yemen has had a troubled recent history with civil wars and tribal conflicts predominating. Yemen had committed to a long-term development plan for travel and tourism prior to the crisis in 2011, which became unrealistic after the recent events affecting the country. That said, a smaller, less ambitious and more appropriate plan is now seeking to merely recover pre-crisis travel and tourism levels and improve transportation infrastructure to make access to key destinations easier. Yemenia Airways’ expansion plans were also put on hold in light of the losses incurred by the revolution. Yemen is a difficult country to get around, but the rewards for the persevering visitor are an unforgettable experience, populated with very friendly and open hosts. Despite being adjacent to Saudi Arabia and on the same peninsula as the United Arab Emirates, Yemen is definitely a place apart. This isla...
